This is a picture of Emma sucking her fingers in a funny way. She has only done this once that I have seen, but I thought it was interesting because my parents say that when I was little I used to suck my fingers in exactly the same way.

This is a picture of Anna, Emma and me in front of the hospital building where Emma was born and where she and I spent the first five days of her life, just before Daddy Martin whisked us off homeward bound. I know, the pointy orange shoes look really dangerous, like the ones Britney Spears almost dropped her baby in, but I really love orange, and, as a precaution, I did not wear long pants like Britney but rather a shorter dress so that there would not be that much to trip over - although I am absolutely capable of tripping over just about anything regardless of any precautions ... Fortunately, this time around we made it home safely, and without the paparazzi.
First Attempt at a First Post
After seeing how many people have their own blog pages and especially after seeing again and again how hard it is to get more than a few photographs sent in one email, I have decided to become one of the masses and also set up a page. I thought it would be really hard, but I guess the creators of blogspot knew that someone computer-illiterate like me was bound to come along so they made it really easy to set up a page.
First I thought that I would write in both English and Czech to make sure anyone coming to this page would understand, but then I figured that the people who might want to read this will either be native English speakers or be English learners who won't mind an opportunity to practice reading some English - so English it will be, unless the English speakers tell me they want to practice their Czech!
Our second child, Emma, was born recently - Sunday, August 13 at 10:28 a.m., so my first big feat on this page will be to try to put up some pictures of her and her big sister Anna - born July 4, 2003.
